The variety was obtained by crossing breeding lines A124 and RY. The plant is female, the fruits have yellow-brown skin with pubescence and rounded shoulders.

Harvesting in the Southern Hemisphere takes place in early April. When cultivated in South Africa, fruit ripening occurs 4–8 weeks earlier than in New Zealand.
