The Summer 4605 variety was obtained during breeding work through controlled crossing of female actinidia plants with male individuals. It is one of two selected forms within the Summerkiwi project intended for commercial fruit production.

The variety is characterized as early-maturing; however, detailed morphological descriptions of the plant and information regarding its agrotechnical features in scientific publications are limited due to a lack of widespread use in commercial plantings.
