Actinidia variety Smarahdova was developed at the M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. It is included in the list of varieties of this crop distinguished by the largest fruits, along with the varieties Kievskaya krupnoplodnaya, Originalnaya, Nadiya, Zagadkova, and Yubileynaya.

A detailed description of morphological traits, such as vine height, maturity group, as well as specific data on disease resistance, are not provided in available materials.
