The Greenwich variety forms a very dense turf with fine-textured leaves and is characterized by a creeping growth habit. Due to high shoot density and fine texture, it is often used as a standard for comparison when evaluating other varieties of this crop.

The plant possesses drought tolerance due to osmotic adaptation mechanisms. During studies, the variety demonstrated varying degrees of susceptibility to snow mold and was evaluated for resistance to copper spot.

The variety requires specific professional management, which includes frequent low mowing, careful thatch layer control, and regular topdressing with sand.
