The variety forms a very dense, fine-textured turf that visually resembles velvet. It possesses moderate salt tolerance, sufficient resistance to shade and drought, and is well-adapted to humid climatic conditions.

The plant is susceptible to copper spot disease under excessive nitrogen nutrition. The variety was developed for use as a covering for golf greens and bowling greens, where it is valued for high uniformity and quality of the playing surface. It belongs to the early to medium maturity group.
