The plant reaches about 30 cm in height 6 years after planting. It has numerous, densely arranged, upward-reaching shoots. Leaves are spatulate, two-colored; small yellow flowers appear in spring, and small oval red berries ripen in September.
The variety is frost-hardy (zone 5b) and photophilous; leaf color fades with lack of light. It prefers well-drained soils and does not tolerate water stagnation. Resistant to drought and urban conditions, suitable for container cultivation, rock gardens, and small gardens.
