The plant has a vigorous growth type with an upright leaf rosette, which facilitates harvesting. The variety is mid-season; technical maturity occurs 75–90 days after planting seedlings.

The plant heads have a dome shape and a saturated purple color, the intensity of which depends on light conditions. A feature of the variety is its ability to retain a bright shade after blanching, which makes it popular in culinary arts for garnishing fresh dishes.
