The Lav opretvoksende variety is an open-pollinated landrace population maintained at the Nordic Genetic Resource Center. The plant has a dome-shaped habit, with the growing point located at the top.

The leaves of the variety do not have anthocyanin coloration. The crop is used for food, and potential ornamental use is also mentioned. The variety has been studied in scientific research regarding resistance to cabbage aphids.
