The variety belongs to late-maturing or winter crops; harvesting is carried out throughout the winter. The plant is dwarf, with an upright growth habit, and is often used as a reference variety when describing short plants. The leaves are a rich dark green color and strongly curled.

The plant possesses cold resistance and winter hardiness. It is a self-pollinating variety, allowing for the collection of seeds. The flavor of the leaves becomes milder and sweeter after exposure to the first frosts.
