The Galinda variety is an improved form of smooth brome developed through mass selection from a local form. Plants of this variety are distinguished by a tall stem and high leafiness.

The variety belongs to the mid-early maturity group and is of the hay-type use. It possesses high winter hardiness, resistance to stripe disease and lodging, as well as the ability to regrow rapidly in spring and after cuts.

The crop is characterized by longevity and high productivity. The green mass yield is about 45.4 t/ha, and the dry matter yield is about 12.6 t/ha. The variety is intended for fodder production and is suitable for long-term use in grass stands.
