Variety description

The variety is a compact upright shrub with dark green scale-like foliage and short shoots. The fully double flowers have a soft lilac-pink shade, and their size is visually accentuated by the small dimensions of the plant. The variety is a mutation of the H. E. Beale cultivar.
The plant prefers sunny locations, as well as acidic, moist, well-drained soils. The winter hardiness of the variety is estimated within zones 5–6, which corresponds to a temperature range of -18 to -23 °C. For successful cultivation, mulching is recommended, and in some cases, covering for the winter period.
In landscape design, the variety is used for decorating alpine slides and retaining walls. It combines well with other heather plants, such as Erica and Rhododendron, as well as with dwarf conifers and ferns.
