The variety is an upright shrub 30 to 60 cm in height. A distinctive feature is the silvery-gray foliage, which retains its color year-round, and violet-lavender or mauve-pink buds.
With the bud-flowering type, the buds do not open fully, which ensures their resistance to adverse weather conditions. Flowering continues from September to November. The plant requires acidic, well-drained, and moist soils, and is used in ornamental gardening and container cultivation.
