The Sharon variety is a compact cushion-shaped shrub with a height of 10 to 40 cm. The plant has evergreen scale-like foliage of a dark green color.
The flowering type is bud-blooming, where the buds do not open, maintaining a saturated red or pink-red color until the winter period or spring. The variety is early, with flowering beginning in August.
The plant is intended for container cultivation, edging, and rock gardens. It requires well-drained acidic soils and sunny locations, and is sensitive to moisture stagnation.
