The variety belongs to the group of bud-flowering heathers, whose buds do not open fully, remaining tightly closed. The plant forms a compact, upright bush 30–40 cm tall. The foliage is small, scale-like, and dark green in color. The inflorescences have a deep purple-scarlet hue and densely cover the shoots.
This variety is an evergreen shrub, hardy and low-maintenance, but demanding regarding soil acidity. It is used in ornamental gardening for creating landscape compositions, borders, rock gardens, and for container cultivation.
