The variety is a compact shrub with an upright or semi-upright growth type and characteristic candle-shaped shoots. It belongs to the Beauty Ladies series of ornamental plants.

The plant is a bud-blooming heather type, whose buds do not open completely, which gives the variety increased resistance to precipitation and wind. Bright red flowering occurs from August to September.
