The variety is an old local ecotype that was officially identified within the framework of programs for the conservation of vegetable genetic resources in Croatia. It is included in the country's national list of varieties.
The variety name reflects its main morphological and taste qualities: the fruits belong to the "feferoni" type, have an elongated conical shape, and are distinguished by a sweet taste and green color in the technical maturity stage. The variety is intended for both fresh consumption and pickling.
