A perennial herbaceous plant of the Cyperaceae family, forming dense ornamental clumps with arching drooping leaves. The foliage is variegated: the central part of the leaf has a yellow or creamy-yellow stripe framed by dark green margins. The plant height is usually from 20 to 50 cm, flowering occurs in April–June with inconspicuous brownish spikelets.
The plant is used for container gardening, creating borders, as a ground cover in semi-shaded areas, rock gardens and gravel gardens. It possesses moderate winter hardiness (USDA zone 5) and high resistance to diseases and pests. In mild climates, it retains its foliage throughout the winter; in cold regions, it may require covering.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
