The plant is characterized by a compact habit and reaches sizes of about 20–50 cm in height and width. The foliage is a rich green color, glossy, unlike the variegated cultivars of this series. The flowering period occurs in May–July; the flowers are brownish spikelets.

The variety is intended for landscape design, including the creation of living walls, edging, use as a groundcover, or a container crop. The plant possesses high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zone 5b, and is considered low-maintenance provided good drainage is ensured.
