The variety is a local Asturian clone included in germplasm collections. The fruit of the variety has an internal septum and possesses a sweet taste. The fruit size is comparable to the Chamberga variety, which determines its primary purpose for processing.
The male inflorescences of this variety do not produce pollen. The husks (burs) have spines of medium length. In terms of maturity, the variety is classified as mid-late; the harvest time coincides with local traditional holidays.
