The variety is a traditional cultivar selected during a program for the conservation of chestnut groves. It is a late-maturing variety; the start of the harvest falls on the first week of October. Leaf budding occurs between mid and late April, which is a late timing for local varieties of this region.

The fruits of the variety possess a shiny skin and clean grain, with the pellicle barely penetrating the flesh. For cultivation, sparse planting schemes from 10×10 m to 15×15 m are recommended to ensure high-quality crown illumination, while on poor soils, spacing may be reduced to 8 m between trees.
