The Pezzutella variety is a local cultivar widespread in the Roccamonfina area. It is part of the traditional genetic pool and is not a product of modern industrial breeding.
The name Stracciasacchi, meaning "bag-tearer," arose due to the characteristic pointed shape of the fruits, which could damage packaging during transport. The fruits of this variety are traditionally used fresh, for roasting, or for processing.
