Servai d’l’oca is an autochthonous variety originating from the Val Maira valley in the province of Cuneo. The variety is included in studies of Piedmontese chestnut genetic diversity and identified using molecular SSR markers.
Specialized agronomic characteristics, such as tree height, maturity timing, and disease resistance, are not described in open scientific materials. The variety represents a part of the historical and cultural heritage of the region.
