The tree of this variety is upright and productive. It is characterized by very early onset of male and female flowering, for which reason it is used as a reference variety in UPOV guidelines for assessing this trait.
The fruits are of medium to large size, elliptical in shape, chestnut-red in color with black stripes. The variety originates from the Hérault region in France and shows susceptibility to anthracnose. It has been established that the variety adapts poorly to growing conditions outside its region of origin.
