Tempuriva is a traditional variety under whose name a heterogeneous group of plants may be hidden. Its name originates from a phrase meaning “early ripening,” which reflects the primary agricultural characteristic of the fruits.
The variety is used mainly for fresh consumption. The chemical composition of the chestnuts shows a low content of organic acids. Visual identification is difficult due to morphological similarity to the Garrone nero and Garrone rosso varieties.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
