10 August 2026
The variety is a local cultivar that formed as a result of centuries of traditional selection in the Casentino mountain area. Trees of this variety are characterized by straight, upward-growing branches.
The fruits are of medium size, have a symmetrical heart shape, and a reddish-tinted skin on a yellow background. The fruit flesh is whitish-yellow, medium-textured, and semi-adherent to the nut. The variety is traditionally used for processing, in particular for producing chestnut flour.
