Variety description

10 August 2026

The Verdole variety is traditional to the Campania region of Italy. Its fruits are characterized by a dark brown smooth skin and a white crunchy flesh with a sweet taste. Harvesting takes place in October.

Chestnuts of this variety are used in the food industry for the preparation of roasted dishes, jams, and purees, and are also used in premium culinary mixtures. Research also indicates a significant content of phenolic compounds in the fruit husks, which are promising for nutraceuticals.
