Ventura is a traditional sweet chestnut variety common in the northwestern regions of Spain. The variety does not belong to modern breeding products and represents part of the historical genetic diversity of Galicia.

Trees of the variety are characterized by the presence of mesostaminate male inflorescences and fruits with intermediate-length spines. The variety is adapted for cultivation at altitudes from 800 to 1000 meters above sea level.

The fruits of the variety are suitable for fresh consumption, peeling, or use in confectionery production, particularly for the preparation of glazed chestnuts.
