The variety possesses resistance to unfavorable environmental conditions and fungal diseases. It exhibits the ability to withstand gall wasp infestation, which is manifested by reduced gall formation and increased mortality of the pest larvae.

The fruits of the variety are suitable for fresh consumption and industrial processing, particularly for flour production. Verdola is included in products protected by geographical indication, including Castagna di Montella PGI and Marrone di Serino PGI.
