Variety description

The plant is a compact tree or large shrub 2.4–3 meters in height and width. The variety was obtained by crossing the Ruby Falls and Ace of Hearts varieties.
The leaves are heart-shaped. Upon emergence, they are dark red, which changes to amethyst-purple, persisting throughout the hot season, and the foliage turns yellow in autumn.
The flowers are pinkish-purple, appearing in early spring on the shoots and trunk before the leaves emerge. The variety belongs to USDA hardiness zones 5–9 and possesses moderate resistance to leaf scorch.
