The Eleia variety (also known as Gen13) belongs to the Kabuli type chickpea with beige-colored seeds. It is classified as an early-maturing variety, distinguished by an earlier onset of flowering compared to a number of other varieties.

The plant possesses high adaptability to conditions with sharp fluctuations in temperature and precipitation, characteristic of the Mediterranean climate. The variety shows high tolerance to Ascochyta blight and Fusarium wilt, is intended for sowing in the autumn-winter period, and is valued for its high yield and protein indicators.
