The variety is intended for cultivation in the conditions of Southern Italy, where it was introduced as part of a program for the transition from spring to winter sowing. The use of this variety allows for higher yields in arid climatic zones.

The plant has high productivity, with yields of over 2.5–3.0 t/ha. The variety is characterized by a good degree of resistance to the disease Ascochyta blight, as well as the ability to withstand low temperatures during the winter period, which is important for ensuring crop survival.

The technological properties of the variety allow for the use of mechanized harvesting. Unlike some large-seeded chickpea varieties, Emiro is primarily valued in agricultural practice for its yield performance and adaptability to difficult climatic conditions.
