The Oroval tree has medium vigor with a vertical branch orientation and brittle wood. The leaves are lanceolate, dark green in color. Thorns may be present on young shoots. The plant is self-pollinating.

The fruits are ovoid in shape with a flat apical pole; their peel is dark orange, slightly rough, and easily separates from the pulp. The fruits are larger than those of many other clementine varieties, have a sweet-and-sour taste, and contain no seeds in the absence of cross-pollination.

The variety belongs to the early-maturing group; the harvest period in Spain falls in October–November. The crop requires timely harvesting, as the fruits quickly lose quality if left on the tree too long.
