The variety was discovered in 1943 in Portugal. The tree has a compact or dense crown and is not weeping. The fruit development period lasts more than one year, with the harvest of two seasons often present on the tree simultaneously.

The fruits are characterized by good size and low seed content, suitable for fresh consumption and juice production. The variety is valued for its ability to extend the harvesting season and is grown in Portugal and Morocco.
