Growth characteristics of F17 trees are similar to the Midknight variety. The fruits are of high quality, although they may be slightly smaller than those of the parent variety. The average seed content in the fruit is less than one.
The variety demonstrates resistance to Alternaria brown spot. In young years, during intensive growth, twig dieback may occur, the frequency of which decreases as the tree matures. The variety is compatible with various rootstocks, such as Troyer, Carrizo, Swingle, Rough Lemon and C35.
