The variety is a bud mutation of Washington Navel. The tree has morphological characteristics similar to the parent variety, however, the fruits are distinguished by smoother skin and a smaller "navel" size.

The fruits are juicy, high-quality, and seedless. The variety is classified as early-maturing and reaches maturity earlier than Washington Navel, Atwood, Bonanza, and Newhall. The harvest is capable of remaining on the tree for several months without loss of quality.

The variety is intended for fresh consumption. Its commercial use is due to the early ripening period, which allows harvesting to begin earlier than traditional mid-season varieties.
