The variety belongs to the Satsuma group and is late-ripening; the harvest period falls between mid-December and early January. The fruits are larger than those of early varieties in the group, possessing a sweet taste, tender flesh, easily removable peel, and an absence of seeds.

The plants are low-growing trees with a spreading crown. The branches of the variety, as a rule, do not have thorns. The variety possesses high cold hardiness for mandarins, characteristic of the entire Satsuma group.
