The variety is a Japanese cultivar of the Unshu mandarin. It is genetically classified as a representative of the Owari line, sharing a similar profile with the Miyagawa-wase and Okitsu-wase varieties.

Fruits of this variety are parthenocarpic and usually do not contain seeds. The variety is resistant to the formation of voids under the peel, and the processes of sugar accumulation and peel development proceed steadily and slowly.

The plant belongs to the late-maturing category, which allows for extending the harvest season, however, it exposes the fruit to the risk of damage during early frosts. The variety is used in commercial fruit growing and breeding programs for the development of new hybrids.
