The Miyagawa variety originated as a bud mutation on a Zairai variety tree. The term nucellar in the name indicates the production of a clone via seed propagation, which ensures genetic identity to the mother plant and sanitation from a number of viruses.

The plant is distinguished by slow growth, compactness, and a spreading crown with drooping branches. In open field, it reaches 2.5–3.5 m, in indoor cultivation — 1–1.5 m. The variety belongs to the early-maturing Wase group, with fruits ripening in September-October.

The fruits have a weight of 100–130 g; they are spherical or slightly flattened, with a thin, easily separable peel of saturated orange color. The flesh is juicy and sweet with low acid content. The variety is considered seedless; the fruits are capable of remaining on branches for a long time without loss of taste qualities.
