The variety belongs to the Italian Femminello cultivar group. Clone M 79 is used in scientific research on the germplasm of Sicily and Campania as an important genotype for evaluating qualitative and quantitative fruit characteristics, as well as studying resistance to pathogens, including Neofusicoccum parvum.

Morphologically, the variety belongs to fast-growing trees with active branching, typical for the Femminello group. The primary purpose of the fruit is for industrial processing to obtain juices, extracts, and essential oils, although they can also be used for fresh consumption.
