Genetically, the variety is a combination of mandarin and grapefruit in a 3/4 to 1/4 proportion. Trees are characterized by moderate vigor, an upright crown, and almost a total absence of thorns. Branches are capable of drooping under the weight of the fruit.
Fruits are medium-sized, round or slightly elongated in shape, with a dark orange rind of medium thickness that separates easily from the flesh. The variety is early-ripening; fruits ripen by October and are capable of maintaining quality on the tree for a long time. The number of seeds depends on the presence of pollinator varieties.
The plant is susceptible to scab. To improve fruit set and increase fruit size, proximity to other varieties is recommended. The variety is relatively cold-hardy but requires protection from frosts.
