The variety is an intergeneric hybrid of 'Duncan' grapefruit and Poncirus trifoliata. Trees are characterized by vigorous growth, exceeding the performance of standard Poncirus trifoliata. In winter, the plant does not enter a deep dormancy period, which allows it to continue development under favorable conditions.

The plant possesses high resistance to Citrus tristeza virus, Phytophthora, citrus nematodes, and citrus blight, as well as good frost resistance down to -12 °C and moderate tolerance to soil salinity. At the same time, it is sensitive to excess chlorine and does not tolerate heavy clay, waterlogged, or highly calcareous soils.

It is rarely used as an independent fruit-bearing plant due to the low taste quality of its fruits, which are acidic and contain seeds. It has good compatibility with most grapefruit varieties, however, it exhibits compatibility issues with 'Eureka' lemons, Meyer lemons, and some mandarins.
