A deciduous perennial vine reaching a height of about 1.6 m. Leaves are typically trifoliate, dark green. Flowers are large, 20 to 28 cm in diameter, consisting of 6–8 elliptical white petals, sometimes with a pearlescent sheen and pale pink stripes in the center. Stamens are dark red.

The variety belongs to the late-flowering large-flowered clematis group and blooms from July to September. The plant grows well in sunny locations, prefers moderately moist and fertile soils, and does not tolerate excess or lack of moisture well. The variety requires hard pruning to 5–15 cm in the autumn and winter protection.

The plant is intended for decorative landscaping of supports or horizontal cultivation. The variety is a hybrid obtained through breeding involving 'Hagley Hybrid'. The plant contains substances that can cause irritation to the skin or mucous membranes.
