The vine reaches a height of 1.6 to 3 meters and possesses dark green pinnate foliage. Large flowers with a diameter of 12 to 18 cm consist of six broad elliptical petals with wavy edges and have yellow anthers. In regions with a temperate climate, semi-double flowers may appear during the first flowering.

The plant belongs to the 3rd pruning group, in which shoots are shortened to a height of 5–15 cm in autumn. The variety prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations and moderately moist soils. The plant requires winter cover and has sturdy stems, though it may cause skin irritation upon contact.
