The Tonda Calabrese variety is an indigenous Italian variety traditionally grown in the Calabria region. Studies confirm a genetic link between this variety and the Nocchione variety.

The nuts are characterized by a high oil content, reaching over 60%, as well as the presence of essential trace elements such as iron, copper, and zinc. Processed nut products, including oil and flour, possess pronounced antioxidant activity.

This variety is used for fresh consumption and in the processing industry. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as plant height, maturity dates, or disease resistance, are not presented in the publications.
