The variety belongs to the Cynara cardunculus L. - Cardoon Group and is characterized by high adaptability and drought tolerance. The plant is capable of growing on low-productivity lands with minimal fertilization and limited irrigation.

The average yield of lignocellulosic biomass is about 19–20 tons of dry matter per hectare per year. Grain yield, used for oil extraction, varies within the range of 2.7–3.9 tons per hectare.
