The variety is a sport of the well-known Erica variety «Kramer’s Rote». The plant is a shrub reaching a height of about 30 cm and a width of up to 50 cm, and is characterized by less vigorous growth compared to the parent variety.
The flowers are magenta in color; the flowering period lasts from January to April, sometimes until May. The main ornamental feature is the variegated foliage, colored dark bronze-green with white spots, most pronounced in early summer.
The plant is intended for cultivation in open field, including heather gardens and rock gardens, as well as in containers. The variety prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils, is fairly low-maintenance and tolerates urban conditions.
