The variety belongs to the species Erica x darleyensis, which is a hybrid of Erica carnea and Erica erigena. The plant is an evergreen shrub intended for landscape design, flower bed decoration, and container cultivation, where it provides ornamental value during winter and early spring periods.
The plant possesses high resistance to low temperatures, withstanding frosts down to -20...-30°C. Unlike many other Ericaceae, this species is capable of developing in soils with a neutral and slightly alkaline reaction. There is a possibility that this variety may be a synonym or similar to the Ruth Sparkes variety, however, precise morphological characteristics for unequivocal identification are absent in open sources.
