Gold Queen is an evergreen shrub with a dense, upright crown, reaching a height of 1–1.5 m and a width of 0.8–1.5 m. Its oval, glossy leaves have a dark green color with a golden-yellow margin, the intensity of which varies depending on the level of light.

In the summer period, in June–July, the plant blooms with small, greenish flowers, sometimes followed by the formation of fruit. The cultivar is distinguished by high tolerance to pruning, resistance to salty winds, and is suitable for both open field and container cultivation.

The plant is considered relatively hardy; however, when temperatures drop below -10...-15°C, additional covering may be required. The variety is valued for maintaining the ornamental quality of its foliage throughout the year and its ability to retain a specified crown shape for a long time.
