The plant has a dark green leaf color with a leaf blade width ranging from narrow to medium and is characterized by a medium degree of sward fineness. The variety was obtained through four cycles of selection based on the selection of plants from the genetic material of the varieties Darlington, Integrity, Dakota, Copious, Golconda, and AST9003.

The variety is intended for creating lawns and sports fields with intensive use, as well as for park landscaping. Darlington II is suitable for use in seed mixtures in combination with Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, and other tall fescue varieties.
