The variety belongs to the soft-leaved type group. A characteristic morphological feature is the almost complete absence of serrated ligules on the leaves, which makes the plant more palatable for livestock compared to standard varieties. The plant has high sward density and demonstrates intensive development after sowing.

The variety is characterized by very low susceptibility to rust infection. It possesses high winter hardiness indicators, drought tolerance, and the ability to adapt to various soil types, including waterlogged conditions. Maksi is used for establishing productive forage lands and for hay and silage harvesting.
